Here comes the big scary word, that I am not sure anyone truly understands…Marketing!!!


What are you going to be doing to ensure your brand is heard of, and more importantly understood?


Work with a web designer who has a background in Social Media and Search Engine Optimisation. The majority of you reading this blog will be in a position to register with a free web development program such as WordPress and get yourselves a web presence, but I cannot emphasis enough that this is a specialist field. A bit like when recruiting your Accountant, ask for recommendations, and get references – they are another part of your team!! Keep your online accounts and website fluid with new content; plan a strategy for when and to where you are planning to share content.


Another marketing opportunity you should consider is Networking; a great way of getting in front of people whether that’s businesses or consumers, however remember your customer might not be in the room at that point, but they might know someone who could be your ideal customer. We invite two companies who are IT based and give them the opportunity to exhibit on the morning as well. Keep in mind the quality of your physically printed marketing; business cards should have that ‘soft feeling’ when being handled.

And finally exhibitions; find out when the local exhibitions are being held, even if you don’t exhibit they are a great networking opportunity.
